United Kingdom 2013 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 USW Arles Blue
Addition of a gull wing door
Hi all

I want to put a gullwing door into my defender 110 puma 2.2 LGV 2013. The panel seems be made of a different material. Tap the low section over the wheel aeach and it has the classic metal sound. The side panel on the other hand above the tub have a very different sound and are a lot more flexible a bit little a composite plastic

So my question is before I start cutting holes does anyone know what the side panel are made of and as they seem to be a lot more flexible do I need to strengthen the panel in anyway to take the weight of the new door?

Thanks in advance for you help

Rob

Pick Up. They sometimes have a bed cover over the rear PU bed, some use an Ifor Galvanised cover, there are also Fibreglass ones too that are common on other PU makes like Toyota Hilux or Nissan Navara etc.
The latter here often being colour match painted.

LR Hard Top sides are aluminium skinned from the factory which is then painted.

Mine is a HT, it has sliding rear windows fitted and there is a steel strengthening piece to the centre that was removed to do that.
As it is in the way.

Whose product is it that you are thinking of fitting or getting fitted? Thumbs Up ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️
