Is this a scam
Just had a email from LR - stating my online subscription for data is expiring in 3 months - car would be 16 months old

Had VIN number and looked very genuine - links to LR website etc

Recently parked in Heathrow

Anyone else?

I’m sure You can check such things via pivi screen somewhere under settings , not near vehicle at present so can’t give you full instructions where to look, but if you have the remote app you can check on there under subscriptions Thumbs Up My 24 HSE X-Dynamic 90 Carpathian Grey

DAP. my wife had her two, then one month reminder.

Clicking on the email 'link' showed nothing, as in no option to renew.

I then went into her account on Land Rover .uk which showed her subscriptions and expiry dates apart from the Data Plan that had no expiry date!

Back to the original email, clicked on the link, clicked on frequent questions and through there found the option to renew it for wifey for £120 (card or paypal).

Clearly nobody at JLR could be arsed to test this to ensure that it was seamless for the end user. I had even asked someone at the service centre when the car went in recently for the security update, but unfortunately they only employ call centre staff and not people with any knowledge of the vehicles that they are meant to represent.

Anyway, i hope that this helps you and anyone esle that reads theis.

Thumbs Up

I unfortunately paid - have emailed landrover media relations as this seemed to be the only email address I could find
Luckily according to credit card company paying by Apple Pay is very secure as no details are released to payee, and if it is a scam I should be able to get refund as Apple should have duty of care prior to allowing payees to set up account

Your Incontrol account will tell you when your subscription ends.

I've had the email and also the reminder but mine is for June when the car will be 33 months old Confused I've read the letter and I don't use the things that is says I will lose access to so just going to let it slide, also in the app all the other subscriptions say they expire when the car is 3 years old and it makes no mention of the one that is expiring Confused Cheers Ian
