There you are
Almost £670 a year for a car we already own, features they sell it on but no real choice or options To be honest the connected car has worked better since they kept asking me to pay for it at renewal Mike |

My wife has had her second JLR email saying that her ‘Online Pack’ is due to expire next month (Velar), click on the link blah blah blah.
Click on the link…….and no option to renew. Checked her account and tat is the only pack not showing a renewal date. Guess it’s the normal arse not talking to the cravat scenario. |

l am generally very impressed with the media and tech on this vehicle. The system works seamlessly and Apple Carplay is great.
I've no complaints at all. The App is good but l don't use it much. The one time it was useful was on holiday when l locked the keys in the back. And it does warn me if l've not locked it. Which is useful. |

I've paid for my subscription. Quite happy. The cost is pretty cheap compared to the overall cost of the car.
The world has moved on from crash gears, wind up windows and A-Z maps, however, there will still be those that crave draughts, chiropractor appointments and hearing loss. Me, I like comfort and things that make my life easy and comfortable. Eiger Grey MY23 D250 SE with bits. Known as Noddy. |

l wonder what happened with trackers, insurance used to give a discount and now not only do you get no discount, but they don't even seem to care if the tracker is active or not.

The problem with the tracker is that it is reliant on the owner to know that the vehicle has been taken.
And by the time it’s been taken, it has been stopped, engine running so the Remote App only shows the last parked position, and the tracker removed and thrown away. Then the police wash their hands of it and say ‘not our problem’. The Remote app never tracks the vehicle in real time, but will say if the vehicle is driving. Again no good if the owner is asleep overnight or at work and not meant to be looking at their phones. The Guardian setting option is part of the Remote app, and is effective in that a call handler will call you quickly if the alarm goes off, but again the tea leaf’s get around the alarm system and again is reliant on the owner setting it. From the insurance companies perspective, they have to look at the worst case, and the LR system just isn’t a good enough to stop thefts overall. |

On the one hand the on line data isnt bad for 2 years (if im keeping it for 2) but on the other i can get a second data sim with my phone for £5 a month and so it would be handy if i could just use my own provider like in the older cars.
i still think overall its a rip of and for how long will it continue. Mike |

You say that, but l had "Tracker" on my old Defender and the subscription was £180 per year.
Again, the insurance weren't bothered, despite the unit being almost impossible to jam as it used FM as well as the mobile network. lt was just for my own peace of mind. The thieves would have struggled to find and disable the tracking device in that vehicle. |
