Collection Day
Today was the day we finally collected our new Defender. This is actually my wife’s car, she selected most of the options and also the colour (Tasman is still my favourite though). There’s another thread here...
https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic88387.html started when we originally ordered the car back in June 23.
Our nearest dealer is Marshalls at Cambridge and our salesman has been fantastic throughout. He’s been very attentive and quick to answer any questions. Handover was scheduled for 11am this morning with us returning at a later date for the flaps and sidesteps to be fitted. However these arrived mid morning so delivery was delayed by a couple of hours for them to be added. We’d completed the paperwork a few days earlier so today was all about the collection.

A hamper?! Flowers??!

I picked up mine a few weeks ago and all I got was a coffee and £50 of diesel in the tank.

I've had many new Land Rovers/Range Rovers (as well and BMWs, Porsches and Mercedes) and have never had any sort of gift.

Is this normal?

I think it's somewhat down to the dealers. My dealer is pretty good, I think I have most of the merch they retail now via my collection days Laughing Its usual to get a fortnum & Masons hamper and flowers. Kids have all received t-shirts and teddy bears in the past. Dogs have received a dog bowl and toy and mrs RDR a Musto Jacket. Other brands are similar but BMW and Porsche seem to be a bit boring with Flowers and a Bottle. I also got the Lego Defender set as a surprise waiting in the boot when I picked up the L460 from a rather lengthy stay at the dealers ! 110 MY23.5 X Dynamic HSE
RR MY23 HSE PHEV
D5 MY19 HSE - Now Sold
D4 MY16 HSE Luxury - Now Sold
D4 MY12 HSE - Gone

Wow. I've had two Evoques (one of them was the first the dealer had collected, back in 2010), Two RR Sports and two Defenders.

Literally never had any gift of any sort.

When I got mine it wasn't even a box with plural keys! It was an empty box with a promise of giving me another key at some unknown point in the future Rolling with laughter

All I have ever received free from a JLR dealer is a lifetime ban from entering their dealership 😁

That was from Heistergruppe in Trier (Germany). Most horrendous experience I have ever had!!
