All Pumas have a 10AS alarm unit, fobs or not.

Do the dash warning lights stay on or go off when you run the starter?  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

I just noticed on the picture of your instrument cluster that the green trailer light is illuminated. I’ve never noticed that illuminating unless I have a trailer light board connected and indicators on. Probably a red herring but thought I would highlight.

Ah ok then I still have that original one in there & connected will the fact that I changed the ignition barrel affect that.

This is the way it looks when running,

maybe a bit late to mention this but I have an EGR blanking plate in & de-cat exhaust manifold once I get it running I was going to plug in the Alive Artic remap interface so that they can re-map it for me. Would that be causing any issue

Ianh Trailer Light might be on as I am still wiring up the towbar.

have you blanked the EGR already? if so and not had the EGR mapped out then I suspect that can cause issues. However they would only really manifest after the engine has warmed up and running at higher revs. Where as a stuck open EGR can cause engine stalling after starting

Alternatively, I would double check you have the right wires on the right terminals of the ignition switch, then check the wires are crimped well and wiring connectors are tight on the ignition terminals.

Do the dash warning lights stay on or go off when you run the starter? Literally when you turn the key?

The trailer lamp stuck on indicates something going on there. Should only be on when indicating and the additional trailer lamp load detected, or with hazards on.

Even if the wrong module/relay fitted in the wrong place under the steering wheel and bridging something there should be no voltage present at the flasher unit socket to allow the trailer lamp to come on.

When engine running you appear to have a MIL, and alternator lamp on (unless it's starting and stopping so quickly that these don't get a chance to go out). Do either of these actually go out?  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Now you have ECU powered up, get code reader on, clear all faults to start from a 'clean slate'.

Then key off, key back on and try and start.

Now any codes you read will be 'true' codes.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

when I turn the key to start after the glow plug symbol goes out the starter turns over & the oil light goes out before it actually starts (doesn't turn over for long before it starts)

I have the LED lights indicators & so on this is the flasher relay (top left) for the LED's I adjusted the screw on top now the trailer light goes out as it should.

Tried a small code reader on & no fault codes appeared, trying to get hold of the guy with the professional code reader to come out now that you guys have ironed the other issue out for me.

OK if the cluster stays on and you see lights go out then that's fine, ignition switch wired up ok.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top
