Horn + rear o/s passenger door = coincidence..?
Puma 110 Utility 2.2, MY2014.

Hi, my rear o/s passenger door has suddenly stopped locking/opening when using the central locking. I had the same issue with the n/s door a few years ago and replaced the wiring - but that took a while to completely stop working as the wires were still making occasional contact.

My o/s rear passenger door has now stopped working without giving me any notice or indication that it's going to. Have pulled back the corrugated rubber sleeve from over the wires to the door at the B pillar and they seem sound and don't pull out when I pull on them - indicating that they are not completely severed - like the n/s was.

Coincidentally(?) my horn has also gone from a normal blast to a peep - indicating that only one of the (duel?) horns is now working.

Have visually checked all relevant fuses and they all seem intact - but not sure about the relays?

Any advice before I start stripping the door card down would be very welcome! Thumbs Up

There's no connection between horn and door switch (except maybe while river crossing too deep Laughing), so probably conincidence .

It's also normal that the door locking stops working without notice when the wires break; I had this last year, wire was broken with insulation still half intact.

I'd also advise to unplug the connector in the B pillar as soon you notice any problems. Worst thing would be both wires cracked making a short and frying the ALM module's output (no fuses).

UPDATE: - Fixed. The door wires had completely severed - so I've fixed those. Strangely, I also stripped down the o/s from headlight surround to get at the horn which was not showing and signs of any issues, so I left that alone. But on completing the door job ...the horn started working on full power again.

So I'm guessing that the two bare wires to the door might have been touching at the B pillar end - and the this somehow caused some ampage leak. Not sure, but all is well again. Thumbs Up
