Rear door table
Not as easy to find one for a puma. Took a punt on one shipped from China purchased on Amazon. Arrived within a week.

Fitting wasn't too bad. All aluminium so bot sure about long term strength but should be fine. Time will tell I suppose. Quite pleased with it overall Smile

That's very interesting, I had been looking for one like this. That a few people had fitted last year.

The price seems to have jumped considerably and there are less of them available. But at least it has been shown to work with the Defender rear door.

This one looks similar to yours.

I didn't think it work with the bulge in the door card to cover the wiper motor.
Looking at your pictures it might.
Did the Hardware to the right side of the door card and under the handle come with it? Craig.

All the hardware and brackets came with it, but no instructions.

Brackets fit under the grab handle, under each set of hinge bolts and then one fixed to the rhs of the door. There are self tappers provided for the last one but I used rivnuts and m6 bolts instead.

And a pic with just the brackets fitted:

how far does it protrude inside the rear when the door is closed? I like the look of it but it might conflict with my rear drawer storage.

Protrudes 60mm from the bulge over the wiper motor.

How’s it holding so far? Does it rattle on bumpy roads?

All good so far. Did a four day trip of lanes in the Penines recently, many of which were very bumpy and the table was fine. No rattles and hasn't shaken itself to bits Thumbs Up

Very pleased so far.

Re: Rear door table
Hey Andy. Looking at that very table on Ebay for my 2003 Defender. Did you only attach it to the door card, or did you drill holes in the actual door to hang it? I like the idea of a £46 table: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284617877959?it...R8CQ8o7rYw

That an excellent price if its genuine👍.... Edit.. Sorry it is as you have already got and fitted it👍😂
Mine is fitted to the actual door, using riv nuts.. I'm not sure the card would be up to taking that as a fixture..

Thanks for getting back to me Andy. I noticed you mounted it just underneath the bulge on the back door, and it goes slightly under the bottom of the door card, when folded away. Does the door still close ok? Mine's a 2003 TD5, I wonder if my door card is different. I don't have the 31cm in height (below the bulge) when the door is closed. Yes, £46 delivered for a tiny table seems more reasonable than some prices I've seen.

It's all very tight but the table just fits in and rhe door closes fine. 👍The door and card accommodate a rear wiper motor, so may differ from some..
I had to cut a couple notches in the wood panels I used to kit the back with to allow the door to close but that was it..
Pictures attached..
