I bought my 130 on 20/4 and had asked that the side gear box was fitted. On collection there was no sign of it. I complained and was told when they went to fit it, it couldn’t be found. I kicked up a bit of a stink and they vowed to get one for me. They did say there was a long back order and no ETA.
I asked if there were any at dealerships around the country and they have four sites. Kent (Group one - Sidcup) didn’t actually have it. Norwich (inchcape) where I picked mine up from. Coventry Lancashire In times of back orders they can get parts from different dealerships and even post them direct I was told. May be worth getting them to have a look around. Thank you Huwryhs. I tried the dealership as they have five other LR sites but nothing available. I’ll just have to wait, although I do wonder for how long as it’s paid for and in my view, I should only have to wait for a certain amount of time before it’s going to
 me off! |

They can get stock from other dealerships outside of their group when it’s on back order. They’re not restricted to their brand. Tell them to get on the system and get it in for you. Mine was black so the sites I mentioned are holding black but the silver/grey are out there too I’ll bet. They get a whip number and do a fastpay transaction to then get it sent. As soon as you talk about Whip numbers and fastpay they’ll know you know they can do it.

I'm in the same situation, I picked the car up in April and still no gear carrier with no ETA. I have asked them to call other dealerships to get this sorted, as I have the Phev and wanted to store the cables and stuff in it.

They can check stock nationwide with a search on their systems and tell you exactly where the part is. They can reserve it with a Whip number and pay for it on fastpay. That’s exactly what my dealer did for me and I picked it up. Simples. Chase them up and tell them I got one within a couple of weeks. 24MY D300 130 X-Dynamic HSE Santorini Black

Hi all, having discussed the nationwide stock with the very helpful part team at Vertu LR in Bradford, it's clear there is none! It's an item on a restricted back-order with LR but there is no information coming on when to expect the stock.....which I can't understand given a lot of us have already paid for this (and for some it may be part of the overall finance package)!

They are now back in stock, just had a message from my dealer and I'm going to get it fitted next week.

For those of you that have the box fitted after delivery - did you notice any mileage/efficiency impacts once it was installed? Whoever ordered the Defender that I bought ended up getting all of the exterior accessory toys and, well, with the exception of the roof rack - I'm not sure I need/want them. The widdle wadder is far too flimsy to hold my weight and while it looks cool, I'm not sure it will be a value-add for the purposes that I bought the truck.
When I unlocked the storage box at the dealer, it was clear that it had never been used or perhaps even opened. There was still plastic protection packaging I had to peel off the inside. |

I use my lunch box to hold my tow bar and air line for the on board air system. I also use it to hold cloth’s to wipe my hands if I get a puncture. It keeps it all out of the way and not rolling around in the back. So each to his own regards use. 24MY D300 130 X-Dynamic HSE Santorini Black
