EVC throttle controllers
Has anyone fitted the EVC or EVCX throttle controller to their L663? I had one on my D4 and loved it, instant response and tuneable settings, was great for a turbo diesel. Now I'm a P400SE, wondering if it's worth adding to the wish list. I'm liking thr additional features of the EVC X including the valet and lock options.

How does it improve the vehicle? The throttle action on mine seems fine, it varies depending on which position the terrain response is set to.

But in "comfort" or "sport" settings l don't have any issue with the way it works.

It changes the response curve, and for turbo diesel vehicles can remove some turbo lag.

It was noticeable on my D4 and also on our Jeep V6 petrol, however I'm not yet convinced for the P400.

With our P400 there is very little lag if any on acceleration, no doubt due to the electric supercharger
that gets things rolling before the turbo wakes up. I would recommend maybe leaving your 396hp as is
for a period to gauge how it performs.. the wife’s TDV6 RRS always suffered turbo lag, but has bigger
issues with the 6 speed ZF hunting gears on roundabouts and alike, which causes inordinate
delays and is dam right dangerous, the P400 is nothing like it, far better response time and the
8 speed ZF helps yet another pommie bar steward down under

Definitely, thanks zilch. Re the RRS and 6spd transmission, there's a known fix to solve that - PM for more details.

the 6 speed allegedly has a LR software update years ago, but made very little difference Laughing yet another pommie bar steward down under

Getting thr thread off-track I know, but..Software is not the issue, it's typically the valve body and it's internals having leaks and blow-by. The valve body can be rebuilt with a Gen 2 ZIP kit, as well as replacing all seats and filter and a full fluid flush. After that, resetting all the adaptations in the TCM should resolve any gear shifting and hesitation issues.
