Heated Screens
This morning I had my first opportunity this winter to use both front and rear heated screens and there seems to be problems with both, rear top 2 elements not working, front has at least 3 verticals not working. Looks like it's a trip to the dealers for some warranty work, they can also look at my rear door not locking / unlocking with the central locking Crying or Very sad

There are previous posts about the rear screen on here, the conclusion being that the plastic cover around the stop light wears away the track of the top elements. Mine has done it as well and the dealers offered me a replacement rear screen without hesitation.
I don't know what the warranty situation is with the front screen, but having had a Disco II with the same heated front screen for some years now, the elements do eventually break as you are describing.

When I had that they just replaced the front screen with no quibbles at all.

Has anyone tried the heated screen element repair paint kits that are available in Halfords and the like? ... ,-------,

I think I had a wire go on my front screen, but am waiting for the frosts to come so I can check. I do feel a bit bad having to complain about the vehicle though...

So far as I know the back screen is fine. Just wish I could find out what the hell is rattling back there. 2011 110 USW

I had that with the rear glass too and the rear hi-level brake light will eventually fail too. LR quoted me £400 to replace the glass and i called LRCS and they paid for a wire to be run to the brake light (out of warrenty). They know of this problem and just wait till the customer complains. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

Both my Pumas had / have a line that didn't clear down the centre of the windscreen - I thought this was just the way the screen is split into two elements. Anyone else have this? John

Can't remember about my previous Puma but the front screen clears much quicker on the passenger side than it does the drivers and there is a bit of a gap that takes even longer to clear between the two. Steve.

heating elements on new rear screen runs round the outside of the brake light so it will not rub through the element, make sure you get this screen and you should be ok cheers.
