Ignition Jammed
TD5 - ignition jammed at position I - battery working so stereo comes on, as does blower, and all lights.

No lights on dash - i.e. cannot get it fully to position II.

Can turn off & remove key, but it seems locked solid before position II - no steering lock in effect - wheels straight and free to move (just pushed it out the way)

Any ideas?

Or am I calling the AA for recovery tomorrow? 2001 TD5 110 DCPU in Bonatti Grey

AA job then a dealer. Happened to my Puma and the only solution is a new barrel. It is time consuming and therefore expensive. Despite being given key number and chassis numbers etc when mine was collected I had two new keys which do not fit the door lock. Not a big deal as I use the fob but given the info given to them they should have got a barrell that was the same as the old one, so beware.
If you have a second key try that but take care that it does stick in the barrel as you will be in bother then, It could be worn key but from your description it sounds like the barrel mechanism. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Yep - stuck coming out, so could not stop the engine - now won't go back in at all - either key.

Oh well, AA in the morning then. 2001 TD5 110 DCPU in Bonatti Grey

Hmm - been advised by local specialist of steps that I can take to get it going - as will need to get ignition barrel replaced completely, no probs.

And for obvious reasons I am not posting the solution on a forum.....

Still a pain in the backside though - snow better hold off until I get the vehicle back - waiting on order of new locks & ignition barrel (so only 1 key!) 2001 TD5 110 DCPU in Bonatti Grey

well, instructions from garage did not help - looks like it will be the AA to get it started then hope it doesn't stall on the way to the garage on Wednesday

and if AA cannot get it started - delivered straight to garage by them. 2001 TD5 110 DCPU in Bonatti Grey
