What year is your Puma ? Puma’s have 3 different alarm Units/s . Depending on age you will have either a 10AS, ALM CHxxxx or ALM DHxxx.
Noting a faulty one could have been replaced with a later version. I ask as the ALM CHxxxx versions do have more issues than the other two. Ps.does your issue happen with both fobs’s ? Also when engine is running does your red alam light stay on but not blink ? as that denotes a low fob battery. PPS, I’m suspecting you have a 2.4 as the trip counter has nothing to do with the immobiliser but is part of the instrument cluster (IC). On the 2.4 the 10AS to engine ECU immobilisation / de-immobilisation communication goes via the IC and dry joints on the IC circuit board can prevent that signal getting to the Engine ECU. Potentially issues with the IC could also be the cause of the trip counter resetting. Another potential issue is communications between the fob, alarm transponder coil on the ignition switch and the 10AS. So if a different fob and a new battery in the fob does not cure the problem my current first instinct would be an IC issue but only if you have a 2.4 Puma. |
