The FY part tells you it was first registered at ... Forest & Fens, Lincoln DVLA local office

The 20 is the first registration of 1 March to end August 2020

The TWM is random

At that age it will be the 2.0 litre 4-cylinder diesel engine, which has a very poor reputation for reliability.

I would hold out for a 3.0 litre 6-cylinder in an 21MY onwards vehicle.

Run the number plate through total car check app and it’ll show when the last v5 was issued and a history of when it’s been advertised for sale and at what price.

It’s dropped form £49,991 since 20 February.

Wait for a 6 cylinder model to come along. Nice engine and doesn't have the issues of the 2.0l Eiger Grey MY23 D250 SE with bits. Known as Noddy.

Not really to be fair in the defender, it doesn't have the poor DPF layout that causes the fuel dilution in the smaller vehicles like the Disco sport.

The main issues I’ve seen reported with the 2.0 diesel in the Defender and Disco 5 is turbo failure. Have a look on the owners groups on Facebook.

It’s also a much rougher engine with less torque, and there should be plenty of 3.0 litre ones available for no extra money. The 2.0 litre diesel was only available for the first year before it was dropped.
