Crazy busy with work but found a bit of time to get Big Red ready for the MOT re-test and treated her to the Gwyn Lewis' Mega DC prop. What with the track rod failing I've also got hold of the HD Sumo bar set-up to fit now Whistle , just waiting for Gwyns Drop Arm conversion kit to turn up so I can do it all in one go... hopefully!
I also fit the roof rack and ladder that I bought from Bill on the forum (cheers Bill!), it'll have to come off again though so I can fit the new seals everywhere and, I reckon, paint the roof black.

Love Gwyns gear. Dropped in on him a month or so ago and he loves a good natter. Going to miss living down the road from his den of goodies Rolling Eyes

Always been tempted by the DC front prop, but just couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger on the cost. Let us know what you think when you are up and running again.

It was costly but if something has to come off I always try to upgrade. I've lost a few front props in the past... Whistle

Can't wait to give it a go, will definitely report back. The drop arm conversion from Gwyn turned up today so that's Sunday sorted! Thumbs Up

Those Props from GL are nice, very well made so I have heard as well.

Custom finish colours would be super nice on those if Gwyn could offer that. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️

Has that Defender EVER been out of the garage Blackwolf? Shocked Shocked So cllleeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaannnnnnnnn Rolling with laughter
...

I can assure you that I would never allow a Defender of mine to get into that embarrassing state, that is Entreq's photo. Mine has a respectable coating of dirt, filth, and oil, and doesn't look anything like a show pony. My undershield is black on top (oil and crud) and grey underneath (crud).

I would be embarrassed and ashamed to have one that clean, I am quite shocked at the thought. I think I'd better lie down for a bit. Surprised

Mine also has an additional hole so that a hose can be attached to the sump fitting so I don't have to take the gaurd off every time I want to change the engine oil. Very Happy

... what difference did you notice with the DC prop?

Reduced vibration from the front driveline (which happens on a Puma due to the nose-up attitude of the engine and gearbox and the resulting fact that the front and rear flanges of the shaft are running in different planes), and more noticeably a significant lightening of the wallet. MOT passed this weekend, always a big relief! Only one advisory for a track rod end.
Spent some time chatting (*ahem* distracting) the tester and learnt how the emissions test worked, for our truck the limit is 1.4 and the first pass was 1.2 but after that they came down and averaged 0.8. Not sure if thats good or not - but it passed so no complaints!

Well, I got a white tee shirt and soaked it in water. I then draped it over the front side light on the Defender. Would have won any wet tee shirt competition Mr. Green Still looking at it Whistle 1982 88" 2.25 diesel
