Seems there have been a few hiccups with electric cars from China.
The scratches and mould could happen to any manufacturer but the warping due to weight on roof racks seems to be an in built design flaw. https://www.msn.com/en-ie/cars/news/byd-s-...&ei=34 1982 88" 2.25 diesel 1992 110 200tdi csw -Zikali 2008 110 2.4 tdci csw-Zulu 2011 110 2.4 tdci csw-Masai |

They said the same in '60s '70s about typically better Japanese cars. In the end it made sense to build the Japanese cars in Europe/America and overall quality of all the cars went up to the point they are now all about the same.
We here have this emotional connection with a car, but for most people its just like your dishwasher: cheap, works and if not replace. I live in France and all these dishwashers on the supermarket parking lot look the same. I don't think in France people care much about what their car looks like. |

Funnily enough, we don't have a dishwasher or a tumble drier and I do not have a mobile phone. We have never owned a "car" but always a Land Rover, first a Land Rover 90 then then Defender110's.
Wonder what that says about me? 1982 88" 2.25 diesel 1992 110 200tdi csw -Zikali 2008 110 2.4 tdci csw-Zulu 2011 110 2.4 tdci csw-Masai |

From BBC news. Seems the fifth largest smartphone maker is to launch it's own electric car in a few weeks.

One of the early issues identified with my L460 was mold. A day one rattle was the inner trim on the upper tailgate not fitting correctly. I got home from collection and started whacking all the areas with clips but ended up prising it off to start again. There was mold spots on the inside of the tailgate trim. Also had the other type of mould problems too, there were over pronounced seams on the passenger side footwell plastics clearly due to a a duff mould. 110 MY23.5 X Dynamic HSE

A neighbour purchased a new MG (not electric) which is now a company that is Chinese owned and vehicles are made in the Far East. I gave it the once over at his request and was astonished at the lack of rust prevention to its underside. A lot of areas were just paint and in places bare metal ! Reminded me of certain Italian cars in the 70’s / early 80’s that rusted away in just a few years. I advised he should talk to the dealer about it, and if that’s “normal” for the vehicle get it properly undersealed straight away.
