I don’t think you’ll go far wrong with the ATs it comes with. Failing that, I’ve got the Duratrac and they are very good on and off road. BFG KO2 would also do the job just fine.

I’ve driven around and through Iceland in a standard Discovery 3 with standard fitted all season tyres. It was all fine - no issues. I was quite nervous about a big day south to north through the middle of the island until I was overtaken by the 4 times a day regular bus service that just ploughed along on the dirt track.
The F roads tend to be gravel/stones/rock. I encountered very little mud. Even the glacial outwash plains are gravel/stone. Note that you are very restricted about driving off road as I’m sure your research has revealed. |

I recently found out that you can get a ferry from Denmark to Iceland and your post whetted my appetite to find out even more, so after some research I'm definitely going in 2025 with my L663 D250 110! If you haven't already found this link then this website is fantastic. https://epiciceland.net/ |

Same here, I was actually reading the small print on my insurance policy and noted that it covered Iceland which got me wondering if it were possible to get the car there. That's when I found the Smyril Line ferry!
I'm also planning on heading over in summer 2025, we'll likely end up over there the same time. I'm going to go with the Pirelli Scorpion AT+ tyres for the trip. MY24 110 D300 X-Dynamic HSE. Carpathian Grey +Air Suspension |

Personally, if I was going to the effort of fitting AT’s for the gravel tracks in Iceland, I’d buy a decent AT with 3 ply sidewalls like BFG AT’s, Yokohama Geolander AT’s etc. compared to the pirelli AT’s.

We explored most of the tracks in a rental Hyundai i20 on average Joe road tyres. Doubt you will need anything special. 1951 80" S1 2.0
