Well I got my chance this evening. Popped to the office then to the pub for a quick one. On the way back both mirrors are misted. As I always reverse in to drive I switched on the mirror heaters and hay presto I can see.
Great bit of kit |

Hi Guys,
what route do you use to take the cables? On my 100" bitsa I drilled the door skins and put grommets in, through the A post and up into the dash etc, but with steel doors on the puma, I don't fancy that much. I've already got convex heated mirror lenses on, but not connected yet.......... Keith |

Exactly the ones I got - fairly straightforward to fit, I just used the heated windscreen cable on the left hand side of the screen (the purple one), and an earth from of the bolts in the same area. Mark 2011 110 XS DC Stornoway Grey |

I spent a bit of time looking at this, and in the end, after lots of testing things out (didn't really want to strip the interior door trim/panel out), I routed the cable from behind the hinge, straight across the rubber seal, with a small amount of slack. I know some on here will frown upon it, but I did a fair bit of checking/rechecking that it wouldn't get damaged/leak water in - the cable now sits nicely in the soft part of the door seal, not being pinched at all, but allowing the seal to form around it when the door is shut. Then I secured the cable inside the cab, so neither 'side' of the cable (inside & outside) would move at all. I was extremely wary about drilling any holes in the bodywork following the fitting of a RAI on my 90 last year that I just couldn't solve the leak afterwards. The cable is visible when you open the door so I'll just keep an eye on it. Mark 2011 110 XS DC Stornoway Grey Last edited by MuddyMarky on 27th Nov 2011 12:22pm. Edited 1 time in total |
