Does anybody have any idea why these two would be linked?

France 2002 Defender 110 Td5 DCPU Chawton White
Its a Defender and someone has customized it. We don't know what's going on with a random wire, unraveling the shoddy workmanship of all the previous owners is part of the joy of owning a defender.

All details on factory wiring and plugs etc can be found here https://www.lrworkshop.com

Best to identify the circuits concerned and then you’ll be 90% sure as to where to look the other end and any items attached to it or and wiring added to that circuit.
I’d imagine it’s a bypass of some kind, possibly if you remove it something won’t work. Try it and see what happens, but it shouldn’t be there it’s probably a temporary fix.
Before you remove it take not of exactly where it cam from. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

As above, make note of where it is then pull it out and see what happens...
