Worth noting, for non EU markets the MT/R was replaced with a completely different tread design quite some time ago.

So what is the date code?

Age and wear pattern is s huge factor in tire road noise.

Ahh, amazing, stressedcoma kindly replied with the dates! Thank you!!

I find them to be excellent in the rain and far better than the BFG A/T.

I had a play around with pressures on Saturday, but made no difference really.

I think its just time to do some sound deadening!

Four of them were manufactured 2019 but I got them from black circles brand new March ‘23. The 5th tyre I got from Camskil and that was manufactured ‘23. Can’t remember what weeks they were though.

Thank you! Appreciate you quoting the dates for me there.

Thank you for all the replies. I think it might be that they are more noticeable on the 130 because from behind the front seats there is no sound deadening, no carpet, insulation, nothing.

I do find the tyres to be excellent, so perhaps its time to look at adding some creature comfort to the 130.

I don’t think being a 130 has any bearing. As cited, the tyres are nosy on 2 90’s. One started as a pickup and is now full tilt. The other is a hard top. So no trim in either in the back. The hard top has a rubber load liner though.

If you crack a window the tyres are very evident. So again not really pointing at sound proofing being the primary thing. If you don’t mind the noise and don’t do anything extreme off road they are an ok tyre to run until replacement. If the noise bothers you, you’d probably be better served to sell the tyres on and fit a different tread pattern.

Had some and hated the noise. BFG muds were way quieter. 1951 80" S1 2.0

I miss the sound from my old Firestone SATs. Surely, the MTRs should not be that loud.. got a set, but not tried them yet. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

Tyres seem a personal choice. I thought bfg muds were noisier than the Goodyears and made the 110 turn in slower. I’ve just put some new 235 MT/r tyres on my 110. Do the job I want and seem good enough in the wet and mud.

Done 160k odd miles now. 3 sets of Goodyear MT/r and 2 sets of bfg muds.
