Looks like the UK leaving the EU will protect you from this. Looks like the inmates have finally taken over the asylum.

Haven't watched the vid, but UK law generally only applies for new vehicles, so will take time to filter down once those vehicles are older. Very unlikely to apply anything instantly to an old vehicle.

You can still drive traction engines legally on the road for instance....

I think this is just a YouTube video of a guy that's having a go at society, nothing new.

Government does typically not really go after small segments of society with an iron fist because it's not worth it. They have much bigger fish to fry. The market will sort out older cars as a voluntary system, such as scrapping schemes etc.

The problem is that for most, replace might still be cheaper. Many Defender owners however have learned valuable skills to make repairs affordable and much cheaper than replacing.

Could only really apply to cars failing Mot's or CT's etc so if you're doing proper preventative maintenance it wouldn't be a problem.

Cities are already no go areas for older cars, in the countryside in Ireland they will ignore it and carry on running old cars on red diesel, the French will strike, blockade everywhere and burn Tesla dealerships in protest, the Spanish will only apply it to foreign cars entering at the borders etc.

But in reality the era of private motoring is drawing to an end, electric cars are there to help protect the manufacturers not the planet and Jo Blogs will be priced out of the market.

Sad times.

I've watched a few of his videos, he seems a doom merchant, hates LR with a passion. All his videos are him picking up a news story and then putting an anti 4x4 slant on it, anto Govt slant on it, In fact if you don't drive the same pants car he does he puts a negative slant on it.

My mate put his ford probe on this fellas stand at some car show he was at, The fella did a bit of a live stream, on face book, about him unable to find a ford probe at a car auction, to put on his stand, but a probe owner reached out. My mate drove all the way from sunderland to put the car on the stand. I think this fella was like there for only a day and that was it. He wasn't there for the full weekend at all, didn't even ask my mate, how long he had the car or anything live, just asked him where he was from and that was it. Rolling Eyes

Watched his videos on the police cosworth's, and the police volvo. That was about as far as i gone with his channel. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back
