Well, no pics for now - the good news is that he's got it running Cool

The only word he sent was 'distibutor' - meaning more to come once he's been to the pub tonight Laughing

We agreed that before taking the old engine out he'd get it running so that it wasn't a case of chasing unknown issues when the new motor goes in. 90 V8 CSW - 1988

Following a visit before Christmas I found out that the chap doing the work used a spare dizzy from his son's V8 Safari racer.

So what's actually wrong with my Dizzy we don't know, butt he easiest thing is to have a new one fitted when the new motor goes in.

Mine is on hold at the moment while he finishes an 88 trialer that was in build before mine was put on his list.

I know it's going to be a while, so not worried and with other situations at home I'm not pushing. 90 V8 CSW - 1988

Update:

I called in at the weekend to drop off some parts and see what was happening. The trialer is now at the stage where its final assembly - body panels and suspension parts to finish. First event is early April.

Mine has been on the back burner as December was much busier than expected - he had planned to work on mine during the quiet period before Christmas. That didn't happen.

However, progress has been made on the engine build and the bottom end is now together. Cam and heads next and once the trialer is out of the workshop mine will be in for the bulkhead work.

As mentioned - I'm not worried about progress, it'll be done this year which I'm OK with. 90 V8 CSW - 1988

Work on the engine continues. I don't have any recent pics, but the cam and timing gear is now in.

The trialer is finished and out next weekend, so mine has a bit more focus.

He's started on the bulkhead and the first view isn't very pretty.

I was encouraged by his comment that it wasn't bad and certainly wasn't the worst he'd done.

Now it's in the workshop he'll be wanting to get it done as there's another car waiting after mine. 90 V8 CSW - 1988

And again, more progress Very Happy

As mentioned before, the chap who's doing it is fitting it in between other work.

The old one is now out, and has a leaky RMS as well as broken mount/s

Next steps are to swap the fly wheel and front pulley along with the carbs and other ancillaries. Obviously there's a new clutch, bearing etc going in and I've asked for anything that looks slightly ratty/leaky to be replaced/upgraded, an example is the earth strap - described as 'weak, even if new'.

The end is in sight Thumbs Up 90 V8 CSW - 1988
