Wow that's bad.
l had a set of £200 Ebay sidesteps and they seemed a lot better than that. For a start the steps were made from a type of plastic so wouldn't corrode at all. The brackets weren't painted. I’ve now reinstalled my steps after giving them multiple coats of Hammerite smooth black paint. Spray for the tubes and underside of the steps, and brush-on paint for the brackets.
While they were off I realised how useful they are as I really missed using them to get into the car, and I’m 6’2”. I also finally fitted genuine “classic” mudflaps as well which weren’t in stock when I picked the car up. ![]() |
