Collected today…and glad I went with Tasman!
Hi all,

Exciting day today Very Happy - picked up my MY24 110 D250 HSE. Spec:
- Tasman Blue
- 19” six spoke alloys, gloss black finish (style 6010)
- body coloured spare wheel cover
- privacy glass
- Ebony Windsor leather
- leather steering wheel
- air suspension pack
- secure tracker pro
- classic mudflaps

I am getting the car ceramic coated next week so will post more pics then.

Initial impressions - the good:
- Smooth. Smooth. Smooth. Engine, ride, overall refinement is first rate
- Seats super adjustable and comfortable. Heated seats plenty hot enough in this weather!
- Windsor leather not only feels and looks great but the smell really adds to the cabin
- Tasman blue is a colour that looks better in real life than in pics or on the configurator. Really debated it for a long time but absolutely no regrets. A classic colour IMO
- Nice ambient lighting at night (set to blue which has a nice vibe)
- 11.4” screen super bright and clear, one of the main reasons I went with an HSE over an XS
- 42mpg average on the 50 mile journey back from the dealer, not too shabby in rush hour and with a tight engine!

The not so good:
- Not able to set up my JLR InControl details despite multiple emails and calls with dealer prior to collection. Apparently I’m not the only one! Dealer is seeking further advice from JLR and hope to get it up and running soon
- Meridian mediocre at best, maybe regretting not going with the surround upgrade
- Miss the soft close tail gate, penny pinching by JLR
- ClearSight rear view mirror is a bit migraine inducing, need to get used to it
- Will need to buy a rear bumper protector as silver finish looks vulnerable on closer inspection
- Would have preferred Pirelli rather than Continental all seasons based on online reviews. Interested in others’ thoughts.

More to follow…

Tasman is probably the best colour on the Defender, sometimes it looks solid other times metallic. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

how are you finding the ceramic coat? I'm weighing up whether to go for the same this week. 24MY 110 p400e HSE in Tasman Blue

Very happy with it. If you parked a ceramic and non-ceramic coated car side-by-side, I’m not sure you’d notice a big difference, except may be in bright sunlight. However I’d summarise the benefits as follows:

- seems to keep cleaner for longer and less effort required to get the same result
- flies / bugs easier to remove. In fact, they often disappear after a shower of rain
- peace of mind with regard to bird poo paint damage or brushes with hedges

If the plan is to keep your car for 3 years, it works out to be £1 per day.
