I'd like to hear about this too - I have a 130 and the rear seats are down most of the time.

I am also looking to remove the 3rd row of our 2024 Defender 130.
My wife wanted a color option not available in the Outbound, and didnt like the look of it anyway... So we thought we could make the standard D130 work. I have permanently strapped down the 3rd row, but could really use the extra 3in of storage height. JLR in the U.S. cant even comprehend what I want to do, so Macgiver it is... If anyone has attemted to remove the 3rd row, I am very interested how you did it. Thanks. |

I had a 2024 V8 130 on order when JLR canceled all orders due to what was rumored to be emissions issues. Prior their canceling of the order, I ran down the rabbit hole of what it would take to convert it to a 5 seater. The challenge was the US parts system didn't show the cargo area parts for a 5 seater, even with VIN numbers we obtained. Ended up finding UK parts diagrams and parts numbers. Once I had a shopping list I found a Land Rover dealer who confirmed the list and was willing to order odd ball stuff (all non-returnable). Long story short I've got around $7,000 in parts for the conversion sitting in my garage. I need to look over the parts list but we got most all of it all the way down to new trim clips and even the elusive styrofoam piece for under the floor once the rear seats come out. That said, with my order canceled I ended up buying a LWB Range Rover and am now waiting on an OCTA. I'd be more than happy to chat with you by phone and make you a heck of a deal on these parts if you want to attempt it. It's really not all that many parts and a dealer even offered to do the conversion for me as they said they had two other 130 clients wanting a 5-seat conversion. I'll send you a PM with my phone number. Edit: I see you are in the PNW, as I'm in Pasco this could be easy to get you parts vs shipping. I drove all the way to Portland to pick up the parts (no sales tax or shipping). |
