Hi, in the mid eighties I worked for a wealthy American family ( Horsenden Manor ) and they had a fleet of Mercedes all the same colour ( burgundy ) all with single number 3 letter plates one being a g wagon, I liked it then and I still like them now, in my opinion they’ve got a great presence about them, they have good build quality, I would definitely have an older one if I had the opportunity, I think yours looks really nice, enjoy it, fast forward 40 years and the current resident ( JK lead singer of Jamiroqai ) of Horsenden Manor also owns a g wagon similar to yours Thumbs Up cheers Paul

Other than being on a first name basis with petrol station attendants, all the 63 cost me in six years, and approx 50,000 miles, was: two sets of pads, one set of discs and three sets of tyres. The build quality of the G-wagon is truly impressive (and I base that on four of them (two petrol and two diesel) and many miles).

The 63 always put a massive smile on my face and the first time I watched the needle climb, and climb, on a quiet derestricted part of the autobahn, until my nerve started to wane, was a definite highlight. A heavy brick should not be able to push through the air at those speeds!

Driving one is always an occasion and in spite of the 63 being a little lairy looking (and sounding!), people responded positively to it and more often than not wanted to chat with you about it.

Wishing you many happy miles and make sure you take it across to the Autobahn Mr. Green
