A Facebook group has been set up for those customers affected.

Maybe the fact that the dealership was built on a flood plain, against the advice of the Environment Agency, meant that either they couldn’t get insurance or were not willing to pay the premium?

I hope the lawyers take Inchcape to the cleaners and I will be asking my dealer what the insurance arrangements are when my car is left with them.

Five year old Jaguar lpace scrap because it needs a new battery.

There's the "environmental benefit" of electric vehicles, right there.

Whistle Its scrapped because its not financially viable to fix... interestingly in this case it has all to do with the environment

So if you buy a new EV Jaguar and the battery fails after the warranty expires, the car is effectively scrap?
How is that more environmentally friendly than my Defender TD5 which was still going strong at 18 years old

Long-term no it is not more environmentally friendly than your TD5, but it is not about you and yours it is about votes, power and money. It has very little to do with the environment.

Going back to the Land Rover dealer flooded. Surely if the vehicle is yours, they have no legal right to withhold access to it, so long as it's safe to do so (flood waters receded)

As opposed to the airport car park fire where it would be dangerous to allow owners access
to their vehicles

Correct. Refusing access is a form of theft known as "conversion".
