They are not at the back under the rear bumper. Both the BMW and Defender PHEV have slightly raised boots that contain the battery.

The previous Velar P400e had a towbar option. Out of the 279 used on the Landrover website only 22 have a towbar..... hmmmmm

On Autotrader there are 1251 for sale / 108 have towbars, 2 of which are PHEV

My old Defender TD5 110 returned about 25mpg whatever you did with it. Towing, round town, motorway....the only time we managed more was touring Spain where we averaged 55mph and it did 32mpg

40mpg is not great if my petrol can do 36mpg carrying the dreaded "evil cant fit a towbar battery" (it can). My VW T5 will do 40mpg+ and again is heavier and the Volvo XC70 will do 50mpg+ but lighter, lower and can run in FWD, so expected
