Might be worth a try.
Wipe the blades with white vinegar and pure some into the screen wash bottle. I find that it keeps our windscreens clearer and cleaner for longer. Not tried it in snow, something to do with being in between ice ages down here so snow is just a novelty. Worth a try and very cheap. |

You may find that fitting premium blades helps, sometimes this is caused by the blade polymer stiffening as the temp drops. Alternatively it may be because the snow isn't wetting the screen enough to lubricate the blades in which case increasing the heat of the glass (using the demister or heating elements if it's an electric screen) so the snow is melting when the wipers sweep may help.
If neither works, turn up the music and rejoice that you actually still get any snow (it's a rare event here in the deep south now)! |

Thanks I tried heating the screen, I’ll take a look at the wipers the cars 2 months can old I wouldn’t be surprised if the OEM wipers are sub par. 110 MY23.5 X Dynamic HSE

I use Bosch Aerotwin blades which I find much better than the OE type. They seldom squeak.

Yeah I agree with this hard to beat the Bosch Aeros, be wary of cheap counterfeit ones online though! |

I’ve had the same, but hasn’t seen any snow, Bosch Standard wipers on mine.
Used to have Aeros, can’t see much difference between the two types. Have you been through any deep water puddles? I’ve had to rain x and clean up all my glass today, it seemed to have a milky sheen on the glass which was really awful in the wet or dark to see well with all the rain and damp too. I have a feeling it’s residue of oil deposits from surface water that splashes up, that’s been driven through. I also wiped the wiper blade rubbers as well and they were dirty too. I normally use rain x cleaner and repellent, I always do keep the glass clean as we all do but in the last couple of months this was something different. I am pretty sure it’s some kind of oil, or grease contamination. It also took twice as long to clean up, but is sorted out now. I found the wipers became squeaky too, as seeing as the mech is new and the blades, there was definitely some contamination involved and as mentioned the blade rubbers being stiff probably made it worse as well. If it goes freezing right now, it’ll be terrible for ice out there that’s for sure. There are definitely duff wiper blades out there for sure, some only last barely 6 months despite being supposedly genuine so not at all surprised they are knock off some of them. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |
