[Offered] Defender 90 200tdi / 300tdi full rear axle (disc)
I’m in the process of an axle change over in the next few weeks which will leave a complete spare rear axle ,current thinking is minus diff but that could change, including:
- rear axle tube
- stub hubs
- hubs
- half shafts
- brake calipers
- brake lines
- brake discs
- brake pads
- A Frame
- trailing arms
- springs(front and rear)
Essentially a full rear setup from the 90, minus the diff. I could part with that as well, however, I was planning on keeping it and reconditioning it for the front.

The only reason I’m changing axle is because the current axle spring seats are about on their last legs thus will require a new set of spring seats welding on. Given the fact I cannot weld and do not have a facility within economical range it made more sense for me to refurbish an axle and rebuild one than try and get the existing one welded.
The existing axle and parts do show signs of corrosion as you’d expect from 30 year old pieces of metal.

I’ll add full pictures over the coming days as I remove the old axle and parts.

An opportunity for someone to upgrade the rear of their 90 to a 24spline disc axle. I believe all of the parts to be in a condition that were they cleaned down and treated with neutrarust and then painted, would be fine for many years - this is exactly what I did to the replacement axle which was also in a similar condition.

Just driven 800mi in the 90 and there have been no indication of any issues with any of the components, however, I remember when I was checking the brakes shortly after I bought the vehicle the rear Calipers could do with an overhaul as they looked a little sticky.

Everything above said, I hope that the price reflects the condition and work required - happy to be told I’m way out and for people to make an offer, I’m just going off the prices of stuff I’ve found while trying to buy the same bits to swap out.

Location of parts is North Devon.

Any offers for axle without diff (even if it’s a 6pack) will be entertained to prevent having to weigh in / scrap what could be useful to someone

£250 a bit punchy for that? Or no interest due to no proper pictures yet?

Assembled the new axle yesterday so should have the old one off and stripped this weekend.

Willing to listen to any sensible offers as the alternative is that this will all just get weighed in as scrap.

Guess I could buy a welder and use it to practice my welding otherwise 😂

Afraid I think you might be a bit optimistic on price there. Without diff, I would say a complete axle is worth about £50 and that one looks pretty crusty. I sold a pair of 24spine 300tdi discovery axles in decent condition with diffs for £150 a few years ago. Thumbs Up 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread

Very fair

Not trying to have anyone’s eyes out, and I know eBay prices are hugely overinflated

In that case I’ll happily listen to any offers - even just a few beers - from anyone who may want / need the parts

Collection from North Devon

Yes normally £80-100 for a complete rear axle depending on condition.
