Can't help definitively BUT I have to commend you on the thread title - brilliant!
From a layman's perspective, I would have suggested that was coolant or antifreeze. Unless your mix of windscreen washer is almost pure and unmixed with water, I'd say it isn't that but I could be incorrect. |

Thanks Mr Fox.
The colour and location makes me want to optimistically focus on the washer system rather than the coolant system. Still haven’t had chance to have a closer look but will probably do so later. I hope it is a ‘cheap fix’ - something like the washer pipe coming off the pump… Fingers crossed 🤞 |

It depends what coolant you use, maybe check the colour of your screen wash and coolant and see what matches and take it from there. I’d say if it was coolant, then it’s likely to be heater matrix related, pipes or even the matrix itself.
If it’s screen wash, then it could be a pipe or non return valve that’s bust as both are under the wing on that side. |

Well…
Had a closer look and noticed that the ‘new’ non return valve had fallen apart. Click image to enlarge Fortunately I had a spare (I know I could have simply removed it). Washer tank full and no leaks. Not very often I have much luck so hoping that was it 👍 |

Crumbs that’s a blast from the past Procta.
My cover has been blown - I fitted Metro subframes and suspension… It’s a horrible colour - reminds me of Del Boy’s paint 🤪 |

Relatively speaking, a good result
I was thinking it might be a leak from the heater matrix given the bilious green colour which I thought could be anti-freeze. |

Yes indeed.
There are many seemingly paranormal ‘goings on’ associated with Defender ownership. |

One of my former Defenders had 666 marked on bits of interior trim clearly part of the original build sheets etc. If it was the work of the devil all I can say is thank you. It was the most reliable vehicle I have owned! 2010 XS USW

Well…
It was MOT day today, and can you guess what happened as I drove off on that terrifying journey. Yes, non return valve number 2 decided to give up. Thankfully, and as many of you decided to do many moons ago, I simply removed it and connected it ‘straight through.’ It’s as if my Defender knows it’s going somewhere it doesn’t want to be. Last year my ABS modulator failed on the day of the MOT. Most importantly, it was a ‘pass’ today with only one minor advisory (not the washers!). Need to think about whether I fit an ‘enhanced’ NRV or just titivate my last-minute botch up this morning. 🤪 |
