Can I just add - lotta love for Tayna Batteries.
I've been using them for years. On their website you can search for dimensions (L x W x H) so if you have a gap of a particular size you can see what will fit. Don't pay extra for 'next day' delivery - they nearly always come the next day anyway - even when ordered late in the afternoon. I am not affiliated in any way - just a happy customer..👍😁👍 2002 Land Rover 110 Td5 Utility 1990 Suzuki GSXR 1100L 1980 Yamaha RD 350LC 1976 Yamaha RD 400C |

I'd second the testimonial for Tayna, always use them, however Mr HardCharger is (I think) in Manila which would probably make shipping infeasibly expensive!

Just to update my earlier question. I asked Varta customer services and they confirmed that for the LED95 vents, the elbow tube goes on either end and plug the other vent. (I did also blow it through like blackwolf suggested!)

Big fan of Yuasa 5000 also and replaced mine with a new one just this week. 👍 However, it’s only 3 yrs since I put in the last one and it’s been getting slower and slower for some weeks. Iv purchased the new one from the same supplier and they told me that I can return the old one at a cost of £20. If they find it faulty then they’ll refund my £20 along with the £120 new cost. So should I gamble my £20 and hope for them to agree it’s knackered ? Keith |

I love my Defender, but “giving the battery a blow” goes beyond even my love |

Don't knock it until you've tried it!

I sent back my 3 year old Yuasa last week. It was indeed faulty and I had my full £125 + £20 postage returned. Result. 👍 |

Hiya Steve.
I didn’t ask but did wonder myself. It wouldn’t hold a charge and was actually faulty after only 2 years. Keith. |

I was actually considering on importing a battery since the local offerings are less than stellar. One supplier, the one I'm currently using, recycles the plates so this may be the reason it hasn't lasted as long as the original LR battery it replaced. Another brand is an Indian brand but has a bit of a hit or miss reputation and can explode while in use
The local Varta dealer does not have the LD95 and would soon just push an AGM battery on me if I didn't know any better. Hence my considering on importing a battery from Varta (the one recommended here) or the Yuasa. |
