TD5 in tank fuel pump has provision for Webasto fuel pick-up. If you have hatch to look onto the pump in car, you can add needle in tank without disconnecting fuel lines.
Do you have some muffler on the heater exhaust? "Drobek" = The Small One - Discovery 2, "Blufínek" = The Blue Thing - Defender 130, and for me at least Ford Mondeo |

Hi MadTom
I don't have a hatch to get to the fuel tank. No silencer/muffler on the exhaust - its a straight through for that added Eberspacher exhaust note 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

Fuel pump hatch is very usefull, especially when using car for long distance travelling. I made it to several frieds Defenders, and at least two of them used in somewhere outside to replace broken pump. They were really happy not dropping tank somewhere outside, nearly full of diesel. Spare pump (just the internal part) is small spare part, I cary during our trips. Discovery 2 has the hatch from factory.
In our Discovery 2 I have Webasto Airtop 2000, and without exhaust muffler it was a bit like small jet engine - noisy. Muffler - original from Webasto made a big difference. "Drobek" = The Small One - Discovery 2, "Blufínek" = The Blue Thing - Defender 130, and for me at least Ford Mondeo |
