Blind Spot monitoring e rear traffic RETROFIT e PROGRAMMING
Hi everyone,
my Defender D200 didn't have a blind spot, so I committed to carrying out a retrofit.
The parts needed for the job are:
mirrors, with signal light, both with chromatic variation.
wiring for the mirror.
ecu, Sodr, Sodl modules in the rear bumper.
It was necessary to build the wiring for the rear modules, taking power and can-bus from the main gateway.

fundamental in my work was the support of Gary, an autosvs professional who, in remote connection, through an economical interface, made the correct programming for my car of the sodr and sodl modules, (also I took the opportunity to also do the correct programming of matrix retrofit headlights).
This guy is able to correctly program any module remotely, (update, dtc, etc.).
I will soon make a complete guide with all the codes and photographs for the retrofit.

Here we go, I'll try to make the point.
first operation, identify the spare parts.
Right Mirror, blind spot, chromic, heated,LR129705 used 100 euro.
Left Mirror , blind spot, chromic, heated, LR129699, used 100 euro.
Moduli Sodr e Sodl, LR129341, LR159593, new or used,
they are fine even if they come from another Land Rover, better L8b2-14f-152bx, it doesn't matter if they are from the defender, programming must be done.

to finish the mirrors you need a cable that I found on ebay to connect the mirrors to the connector on the door

for the Blind Spot connection, pin 41841145 ,

the red wire must be connected to pin 12 of the connector and the orange wire to pin 11 of the connector, the ground to a black ground wire in the mirror.
Chromic, purple and blue wire to the two-pin connector in the mirror, you can find the connector here:

now comes the rear part, you need two can H wires, blue and blue/green, I took them from this side connector on the central console. C32h1, then you need a dedicated power supply, taken from the junction box passenger C2BP02H-5, under the top case, white/green wire pin 5, connector.
all these wires must be brought to the rear, it is necessary to dismantle the passenger seat and the rear passenger side panel, then you arrive next to the suspension compressor. in this position you also take a ground and wire the rear sensors.

you must then remove the rear bumper, follow the instructions in the video by Friend Simon of Powerfulluk, the modules can be installed without screws only with joints, for the connectors and pins you can find them in the attached diagrams.

once all this work has been done, you will have to program the sodr and sodl modules, set the correct ccf, (after setting the ccf, an alignment must be done to the central configuration, otherwise an emergency brake error will appear).
you will have to vary:
* EUCD-037 Blind Spot Information SystemBlind Spot Information System With Radar Direct LED
* MultiCAN-794 Rear Corner RadarsRear corner radars fitted
MultiCAN-723 RCTA Configuration
Motion based alert

for any information please feel free to ask, for the programming part I wrote in the previous post.

Cheers

Marco

Is this somehow related to the rear exit detection?

yes, it works in synergy with the rear radars, it must be connected to the LIN line of the door ECU.

Thank you! Last questions:) If im correct these parts on the door should inform you if you want to open the door and there is an incoming vehicle. Are they only lights or buttons that you can press?
