Does anyone have a Camera Mirror Kit fitted? I don't want a DD but would like to install a reverse camera and thought this might be a neat option.

Ponder on this from time to time.
As with you I do not want a DD head unit or an auxiliary screen on the dash. The best solution I have found thus far is the Optimill rear camera and number plate light twinned with the JVC KD-X560BT https://www.us.jvc.com/car/marinemotorsports/kd_x560bt/ and https://www.optimill-uk.com/number-plate-light-with-camera.html A neat solution in my mind. The other way is to go Pioneer SPH-20DAB with the reverse sensor pack https://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/pioneer-sp...ensor.html A few options for you. |

Thanks for the details. I have the classic info head unit, all be it pretty useless I like the look so I need to find a mirror system. I see Halfords do a universal camera mirror kit which I may try. Andy

I have one of those universal units, fitted by my auto elec.
Works well, but be aware that it may require some trimming of the driver's/passenger's/both sun visors to fit properly -- 2010 Defender Puma 90 + BAS remap + Alive IC + Slickshift + Ashcroft ATB rear 2015 Range Rover Sport V8 Supercharged Defender Puma Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zZ1en9 Discovery 4 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zXrtKO Range Rover/Sport L320/L322/L494 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zc58JQ |

No problem. I like those classic look head units. The only thing to be aware of with the rearview mirror systems is that the mirrors are longer than the standard Defender one and it will foul on the sun visors. If that is an issue for you. |

I have the clear view mirror in my defender and I find it uncomfortable to use. When you look in a normal mirror your eyes have the same focal point as for looking out the front window. But if you have a camera mirror you have to adjust your focus onto the mirror face itself and I personally hate it. |
