Tyres for a single trip to the Alps
I may be taking the Puma to France this Christmas. Staying fairly low (c600m in Brides les Bains) but may end up driving to Meribel or Courcheval.

Legally, will I need tyres with 3PMSF? I have a choice of Continental CrossContact, Cooper STT Pro and BFG KM3, none of which do have this. They do all have M+S markings though.

I think I will be OK. Found this info (from https://www.service-public.fr/particuliers...9?lang=en)

"What equipment is required?
In areas established by the prefects, vehicles will be required to:

have in their trunks metal snow chains or snow socks suitable for fitting at least two driving wheels;

or be equipped with 4 winter tires, mounted on at least 2 wheels of each axle. For the coming winters, from 2023 to 2024, the appellation « winter tire » cover all tires identified by one of the markings « M+S », « M.S » or « M&S » or by the joint presence of « alpine symbol » (recognized as « 3PMSF » (3 Peak Mountain Snow Flake) and one of the markings « M+S », « M.S » or « M&S ». From 1er november 2024, it will only cover tires identified by the joint presence of the marking « alpine symbol » (recognized as « 3PMSF » (3 Peak Mountain Snow Flake) and one of the markings « M+S », « M.S » or « M&S »."

As I read it I will legally be OK as the tyres will have M+S and my trip will be before 01 Nov 2024.

Or have I missed something?

M+S tyres still ok until the end of the "transition period", i.e. 30 September 2024.
