Tracked a copy down. I wonder how much Nene charged him to bring it back to life. Nice interior but think I'd have kept it green for originality. If I can get this one anywhere near as nice as that id be happy.

Having one of these myself, I have always considered the hinges and grill an off white colour rather than silver. I am fairly sure thats how they would have come out of the factory.
Mine came with deep dish alloys which I ran for 8 years, now on a set of Wolfs. Not 100% they are a fit but they drive well. I would also be interested to know if that there is a register on these, they do seem to crop up every now and again. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge [/img] |

I agree they are a white rather than a silver but they are always described as “powder coated silver” all the way back to when they were first made!
I’m trying to do up my one - so I’m trying to identify what the paint code was/is. Failing that I suppose I’ll just have to ask a paint shop to do a match. If you have any spare parts - do let me know. I also need to source some replacement gauges! Where are you? There is a Facebook group for these-“Landrover defender heritage (2000MY) if you are interested. |

Sorry, I can’t help with the specific code. I found an off white when I re-sprayed the hinges which was a very good match. I have had an eternal battle getting the green paint match, supposedly a bronze green but it never seems to match. May be the 23 old paint thats the issue not the colour.
We are based in Wiltshire, old girl goes on family camping trips, kitted out with fridge, split charge and solar. Occasionally gets drafted into service on the farm when the going gets muddy. Initially planned to drive it though Africa, but life got in the way (for now). Always thought they were a nice spec vehicle for the era with full leather and a tacho (hardly plush) but makes a difference. I’m still weighing up the wolfs, and whether to paint english white or body colour, or take the hit and re-rubber the original deep dish. I’ll have a look at the facebook group, could be quite useful. |

The original colour was supposed to replicate galvanised parts of old, although not very successfully to be honest. However, with that in mind I think the colour was more of a light grey. Darren
