Looks like Mid British Racing Green or possibly Deep Bronze Green.

We have a winner ![]() ![]() Click image to enlarge I still had a dribble left from some previous paintwork done to the Defender. Restored the vice after being given it by the widow of a deceased friend from the 4x4 world and there was only one suitable colour really. |

FTFY... The grey is actually bare metal and is how the vice was supplied when new. Cleaned up really well with a bit of elbow grease and sandpaper. The last picture is how it was on arrival before the transformation, a before and after shot. |

As far as I know all Record vices left the factory painted in "RAF Roundel Blue", although I suppose special orders might have been unpainted or in custom colours.
I'd have to look up the paint code for Roundel Blue, it's been a while since I bought any. "British Racing Green" is properly "Napier Green" of course, for reasons found in the early days of motor racing. |
