Hello
i was told such pipes do not like to be warmed up because of age. I have sourced a used plastic connector from the discovery but it looks quite shorter when compared to the defender one.

I was about to try heat the pipe and press it (with some of the outer rubber layer removed as it would foul against the green clip.

I am concerned now as it has been sitting for a week Sad

hi, I managed to obtain a non defender connector (from a european engine) it is had 3 barbs and as long as the one that i removed. I managed to press it in the pipe but i kinked the pine in one instance Sad will see how it goes. so far it is running fine. It an 8mm OD connector not the 7.89mm. i managed to push it in the pump from the hatch above.

I'm about to replace the fuel hoses WJP107940 on my Defender 110 (yr2000) TD5... as my high pressure hose has a hole in it!

Luckily, I have an inspection hatch in my floor. My questions are... Is it relatively straightforward to physically replace the hoses? Is it just a case of feeding them through and connecting them up?

I know that I have to go through a fuel pump bleeding cycle by pressing the accelerator 5 times etc afterwards... I'm just wondering how hard they are to replace or anything I should know now that'll make it easier to do. I'm very thankful to have the hatch in the floor at least!

The tool to fit them is about £80 plus VAT but it does loads of sizes od push in connectors. Very handy to have.

With the tool you can put male and female couplers onto damaged lines as a repair too.

have you a link to this tool please? Cheers

Great to hear you're sorted, I have an inspection plate in my workshop that has been bought specifically for when I have a fuel pump issue. I plan to cut a hole in the floor to access the pump in situ rather than go through the pain of dropping the tank again. The inspection plate will then be fitted over the hole to maintain a watertight seal between chassis and body. This is how you access the fuel pump in a Discovery, I can't understand why they didn't do similar in a Defender.

I do like that inspection hatch, and having had the ‘enjoyment’ of replacing the pump by dropping the tank on my 90 I’d be keen to install one.

Does anyone have the dimensions for its installation or is it a case of trial holes and error…
