United Kingdom 2006 Defender 90 Td5 HT Cairns Blue
[For Sale] 2006 Defender TD5 90 HT - NOW SOLD

After 10 years of ownership, we have decided to sell our very genuine and lovely condition 2006 TD5 Defender Hard Top - very much hoping to sell to a forum member and enthusiast.

It has been well maintained throughout our ownership by renowned specialist Doug Dransfield (who we bought it from in 2013) and our local garage who has a superb Defender specialist on their team.

There is a large history file and lots of receipts showing a strong history of proper maintenance over the years and we have had it under-sealed 3 times during our ownership to keep the underside in good condition.

The headlines are ;

2006 '56
90 TD5 Hard Top - side windows added by a previous owner
113,000 miles
12 months MOT (this week)
4 owners (inc us from new)
3rd seat and side steps
Boost alloy wheels
Genuine Land Rover Stereo
Tow Bar and electrics
LED Rear Lights

£14,490 (no VAT)

It's obviously not absolutely perfect (we use it most days), but in really lovely condition and drives really well, pulling strongly through all the gears.

Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

It is located in Sheffield.

I think that’s a lovely Defender going for a very realistic price.
If I were in the market for one, I’d probably be getting in touch. Alas I can’t have two.

Good luck with the sale 👍

Its a nice td5 but yes the market is a lot tougher this year than last year for defenders thats for sure

there are a lot more available for reasonable prices and anything that doesn't seem reasonable will be hanging around.

I would say yours is about 10/12.5k as a standard hard top as most I see selling are are around that price point.

You can get hold of a XS for around 15k so you are battling against those. 2008 Santorini Black 110 XS USW (Sold)

I think the markets quiet, but then again we are not far off XMAS, So people will be wanting to hang on.

Might be worth lowering it to 12k, i picked mine up, that was that sort of mileage, but has extra toys as standard. So it could be a little too high for the spec, but still looks a great base for anyone, I have seen a lot of over priced sheds out there. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Thanks for the reply's....

Its a strange one, because on Autotrader it's 5th when put in price order for a Defender from 2003 with less than 125,00 miles, so doesn't look expensive.

When you then layer on to the the fact that this is a well cared for Defender, with very low ownership, it seems to 'stack up'.

At £12,000, I'll just put it away and bring it back to the market another time, while I enjoy the shiny new Defender 90 Commercial in the drive Wink

The problem with advertised prices on autotrader / ebay, is they are what the owners would like to see for their vehicles, not what they're actually worth in the market.

Searching ebay for 'completed' sales helps give an indication as to what things are actually selling for.

I think 11-12k is more realistic looking at what has actually sold recently.

I have reduced this again, but really do feel that it is worth more than some of the Defenders on Ebay given it's provenance, condition and history.

Let's see, otherwise it really will just be put away.

If you have a good Defender; have confidence and push for what it's worth - a buyer will come along who see's that what you have is worth paying a premium for and buy it Very Happy

Nice one Thumbs Up Who ever bought it, got a decent landy, A lot of over prices sheds are on the market, you have to go out and see what they are like, to see if its worth that kind of money. Mine i recon i got a bargain tbh, and it should have been the defender i should have bought 1st time around really. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back
