Hi all,
Trying to trace an intermittent issue with my 3.9efi 90. Have replaced all of the ignitionnsystem and still seem to be having the same issue so only thing left is the ECU. Does anyone happen to have one stashed somewhere? Happy to buy or rent to help with diagnostics. Cheers Steve 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread |

Running perfectly until upto temperature, then occasional misfire before total cutout and failure to restart. After leaving to cooldown for a couple of hours its normally fine again.

Hi Don,
Dont think so. It has been fine for years then suddenly cutout one day and wouldnt restart. It has had new NGK plugs, new genuine LR HT leads, new coil, 3 new ignition amps (as most seem to not work out of the box anyway) and now a new powerspark distrubutor. All the wiring has been checked and the ignition amp moved to the inner wing. If you leave it ticking over it seems to not develop the issue until you drive it and the engine certainly seems to warm up and fuel rail temp never gets about 60ish degrees so dont think its a fuel issue None of these sadly seem to have made the blindest bit of difference to the issue. I doubt it is the ECU as it still seems to communicate fine with the laptop but pretty much out of ideas! 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread |

Not sure withour checking to be honest. Rovergauge was showing am increasing value with engine speed though.
Would the MAF have this sort of effect do you think? Cheers Steve 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread |

It could.
I’ve been rebuilding mine and have just set it all up. It needs to output 1.8 volts at idle. You can trim it with the pot on the side. You should also have 0.35 volts at the tps when closed. Steve. |

Also check the idle valve. These are known to cause issues.
Remove and clean. Operate with rover g and make sure it drives in and out freely. Steve. |
