Hi all,
My 90 has a broken fuel pipe connection from the fuel filter. It's going on the bed of a recovery truck tomorrow. I want to disable the fuel pump so if we need to steer the vehicle, the fuel pump won't turn on and spew fuel. Can I just pull the fuse from under the driver's seat to disable it? Assuming it's fuse 4 in the 'Fuse box under seat (1999-2006)' here https://fusesdiagram.com/land-rover/fuse-b...ender.html 2003 90 TD5 Hardtop |

Pull the relay under the seat or unplug the power connector at the bulkhead that goes down to the chassis loom.

Just put key in barrel. It doesn’t need to be rotated

On my Puma (2.2), just putting the key in does not release the steering lock. The ignition switch has 4 positions.
0. Off I. Switches radio and cigarette lighter (perhaps others, but for sure not the electric windows ![]() II. Switch on ignition, including in tank fuel pump. For sure the steering lock is released. III. Crank engine. Edit. When going from position II, to I and 0, aka switching off the engine, if you leave the key in, the steering lock will not be engaged. Only when you pull the key out, can see the ignition barrel going out to engage the lock. So, putting the key in, and perhaps pushing the barrel in can release the steering lock. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing 2012 90 CSW, 2.2TDCI, Santorini Black |

Fuse 4 (20A) under the seat is fuel pump relay supply, yes.
Or unplug the inertia switch to prevent the ECU powering up. ![]() ![]() |

Thanks for all the ideas, gentlemen and/or ladies.
I ended up biting the bullet and leaving it as-is. Recovery driver turned the key to pos. 2 to release the steering lock, and a tiny bit squirted out. Which reminds me... I need to make a post about cleaning up! 2003 90 TD5 Hardtop |
