Reluctantly we've decided to sell my wife's Land Rover Defender.
Basically, she was working from home during lockdown and I managed to convince her to sell her new Volvo and buy this instead. Unfortunately she's now travelling in to the office more and also sometimes needs to transport or grandkids and this now isn't ideal. I am a Land Rover nut basically, I've owned a LOT of Land Rovers! Everything from 1949 up to 2.4 Puma, so I know about these things! This vehicle was built by Cult 4x4 in Framlingham, https://cult4x4.com/ , it has a very unusual spec basically as follows; Complete strip down. Chassis galvanised Puma bulkhead (so you get the more 'modern' dash and instruments) Rebuilt 300tdi engine, this is a proper Land Rover engine and the same as specified by the British Army for their 'Wolf' Land Rovers, more basic than later engines but reliable and easier to repair due to having less electronics etc. Ashcroft engineering automatic gearbox conversion, yes automatic Defender 90, makes for a very easy drive. Land Rover manuals are not really that much fun unless you are really into your off roading so this is a sensible option in my opinion. LED lights all round including extra rear LEDs for reversing/work etc "XS Spec" so has heated front and rear screens, air conditioning, heated seats. Six seats, two up front and four inward facing in the back. Stornoway Grey metallic, non sunroof. Black Alcantara headlining. Probably lots I've forgotten! Happy to put you in touch with John, the owner of Cult 4x4 who can confirm the exact spec. Negatives. This was built for the previous owner, who passed away a couple of years ago, the family asked Cult 4x4 to find a buyer but it came with very little paperwork. This didn't worry me as I'd bought from Cult 4x4 in the past and know the standard of their work but basically there's no huge folder of paperwork. I have started to record servicing since we bought it in October 2021. Hpi check will flag up a mileage issue, this was from before the re-build, everything on the car has been overhauled or renewed since then so it was irrelevant to me but may be something that would put people off. Tyres have some cracking but plenty of tread. Aircon needs a re-gas, think there may be a slight leak as it was re-gassed last year. Front seats, whilst presentable, could do with re-covering. New Exmoor trim covers provided though. Price at the moment is £26,995 which is basically what it owes us, the original build was over £30k apparently. There is the possibility that this will be placed with a dealer soon on sale or return, obviously at a higher price, but with the issues above sorted. MOT is until October but happy to put 12 months on it as it shouldn't need anything. Hopefully here's a link to some pictures, https://www.dropbox.com/sh/t8bt3d85koge5pu...0Qfwa?dl=0 If you need any more information just message me. Sold my last Defender on here, also built by Cult, and as far as I'm aware the buyer was delighted. Last edited by Crossfit_Pete on 18th Oct 2023 11:26pm. Edited 1 time in total |
