Have the mirrors been folded in or out manually? You could try resetting them
An amount of knock protection is designed into the door mirrors. If a mirror is accidentally knocked or manually folded inwards or outwards, the mirror head disengages from the folding mechanism. To re-engage the mechanism, manually return the mirror to its central position, then fold and unfold the door mirror using the button Cheers Ian -------------------- 22MY Defender 110 D200 SE, Fuji White. Sorted itself! After a couple of times cycling the manual folding by pressing the two buttons, auto-folding seems to have woken itself up. 90 D250 HSE, Pangea Green with tan interior and fabric sunroof.

ls there any way to actually STOP the mirrors auto-folding when you lock the vehicle? l am in and out of the vehicle all day in my business and the mirrors constantly whirring in and out gets on my nerves TBH.
Also when towing the caravan l can't lock the vehicle as the mountings of the extension mirrors hit the door when the mirrors fold. |

If the mirrors are folded before locking the Defender, they won't unfold when you unlock it. It's called "Garage Mode".
There doesn't seem to be a solution for your caravan mode, which seems like an oversight by JLR to me. Current vehicle: 2020 Defender 110S Gone: Defender 90 HT 200Tdi, Discovery Sport, Freelander 2 Insta: wizzardprang |

Having just spent the week in cold icy conditions the ability to prevent the mirrors folding would be very useful. Having it as an option in the menu with the winter wiper position setting would be an easy and useful feature.
Every morning the car was covered in thick solid ice and hearing the mirrors grinding away trying to open with little chance of success didn’t sound good and trying to defrost them to get them to deploy was a pain. 110 MY23.5 X Dynamic HSE RR MY23 HSE PHEV D5 MY19 HSE - Now Sold D4 MY16 HSE Luxury - Now Sold D4 MY12 HSE - Gone D3 MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten |

I hope there’s a clutch mechanism inside but it sounds awful when they are trying to deploy. There’s nothing really to scrape around the hinge so it’s a case of getting de-icer in it. I tried driving off with them folded thinking they would sort it out but with the wind chill added from driving 20 miles in and they still wouldn’t unfold not ideal when driving in poor weather, if only they hadn’t folded the night before … 110 MY23.5 X Dynamic HSE

Spray the hinge plates with GT85, on a regular basis. That sorted mine !
