Cheers both. These clips push into the round holes in the main seat base section? i.e not the top lid (item 1) 1999 Defender TD5 110

It would be worth getting some 2mm closed cell foam strip to replace the stuff on the lid. They usually get very flat and let cold/heat in/out.

Quite an elegant design too! The screw locks the clip firmly inside the square hole. Also not Plastic, Plastic is never the most elegant solution given time.. |

The hole in the seatbox is actually not a round hole, but looked like there’s a superimposed square hole. Unless the latter was created by vibration over the many years the clips were installed. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

Also adding some 5mm foam between the metal plate and the base of the cubby, for two reasons
1. I discovered an annoying squeak as two bolts for the cubby are missing(my bad) which was when I noticed a lack of fixings apart from the two at front by the ECU diagnostic socket/mounting bracket 2. To add some more noise deadening. 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |
