Twisted flogged all their Defender stock and are now focussing on Suzuki Jimny's Laughing

Feels like Twisted 'diversified' when Defender values/interest peaked which obviously put their business model at risk. I would guess the chassis plans got scrapped? > 110 XS Double Cab

I watched the Johnny Smith YouTube video with a roadtest of the Jimny
It's £80k and not really in the same league as a Defender
I'm a bit worried for Twisted as they seem to be heading down a dead end. Not sure why they don't start modding the new version, it might not suit them but neither does the Jimny

A company which I cannot remember the name has a solution that’s really interesting.

They utilised the original live axle however shortened the tubes while maintaining the standard diff position.

This allowed them to use standard transfer case positions and prop shafts length while making the live axle a part of the chassis.

they provided drive to the wheels with a typical modern CV setup to hubs.

Really cool, was done to a RRC.

obviously had a modern steering rack, anti roll bar too. 4.0 V8 Defender 90

I'm not worried about them, they have been selling stuff at top dollar for a long time.

I'm sure they will be fine

I've seen an electric converted Range Rover with that system. I believe the primary reason to do it was to retain enough points to keep the vehicles original identity. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

As much as I love the original Defender and they are my daily bread and butter I just can't see the market growing for £150k plus upgrades, there are new wannabe's springing up every month with leather and wood decking a plenty some of them only a stone's throw away from Twisted.

I'd think it very unlikely that it would legally have kept its identity.

I was fawning over "the landrovers" electric build with independent suspension and hub motors the other day. Looks pretty conventional overall, obviously not having driveshafts to worry about makes a big difference
