Continuing the theme of replying late.....
That's pretty typical level/flow for most of the year. Unfortunately of late a lot of yahoos have been ripping through there far too fast, spinning wheels and all sorts. As a result the central section now has a pronounced 12-18" dip that can get you into trouble if you're not ready for it. If you hug the bridge you're pretty much guaranteed traction on the downstream side. The ford is the main route in and out of Snelling farm, which is on both sides of the river, and the farmer has had a few "interesting" moments in his 90 as a result of this new "feature" Best indicator for level is the gatepost you can see in the last few seconds of the video. If the hinge pin is visible, it's do-able, but the closer you get to it the greater the risk of flotation. Once that's below the water you're on your own Go through there most days in the D3, and in the Defender when I get the keys of Mrs Do$h, which isn't often enough for my liking. 54 Freelander modded for mud 2008 D3 SE 2010 90 XS SW 1978 88 Series 3 undergoing surgery with a new owner 2007 90 County Truck Cab - gone 2006 D3 SE - gone 2004 Freelander Sport - gay 1999 Disco V8 ES rotted to bits |
