Removing Chequer Plate - Holes!!!!
Has anyone removed chequer plate from a wing or bonnet?

If so what have you done with the holes ….🤔

Assuming you want an invisible repair, it is difficult. You really either need to be (or have a friend who is) very handy with a TIG welder, or it is possible to bond a plate under the hole and then fill and flat the resulting crater. The easiest - and most satisfactory - method is to replace the wings and bonnet with new items and then sell the old ones still with the CP, since bizarrely some people do like the stuff.

All of the above leave you needing a significant respray of the affected parts afterwards.

Alternatively keep telling yourself that you do actually like it in the hope that after a while you'll convince yourself!

I don't mind the stuff, providing it is in ok condition (unlike the stuff mine came with), but I would stop short of the bonnet one.

There is also the "Grip Tape Style" ones if OP wanted another option that utilised the holes and, to me at least, this tends to look a bit neater (If rather steep price).

Failing that, what blackwolf has said is probably your best bet - new wings, or at least new wing tops
