Defender 300tdi vacuum pump question.
Hunting for an oil leak today and noticed that the outer (riveted) end of the vacuum pump was wet with oil, I read a post somewhere that mentioned a replacement o ring kit including small bolts (to replace the rivets) was now available. I have searched everywhere but can’t find any reference to it. Does anyone know if this is available in the Uk?

Unfortunately I was unable to find the o-ring when I looked a few weeks ago. I’d try to very carefully clean up the original oring and refit with a dab of hylomar (beware - seriously carcinogenic, use gloves). M5 x 20mm bolts are suitable from a thread I have bookmarked.

It’s not possible to use generic o-rings from a kit as you’re probably aware, it’s Mickey Mouse shaped.

My problem was the welch plug popping so all of the above was just researched as a possible preventative measure, someone more experienced may be able to offer more guidance. Ended up with a new pump personally.
