Advanced Tow Assist "Cancelled. Trailer jackknifed"
Has anyone gotten this "Cancelled. Trailer jackknifed." error when trying to use Advanced Tow Assist?

Process/Symptoms:
    1) I'll select the Advanced Tow Assist icon

    2) The screen repeatedly displays the "Apply brakes and shift into reverse." message for a moment and then says "Cancelled. Trailer jackknifed." It toggles back and forth between these two message 3 times then exits.

    3) During that time I can select the "Start" button and when I do I get an error gong sound and it says Cancelled then exits

    4) If I try that 2-3 times it eventually asks to calibrate the trailer. I'll go through the calibration process of driving straight forward, which seems to be successful.

    5) Back to step one with no change in behavior.

I've deleted my trailer profile and re-entered it several times and also made sure to do the calibration in a well lit area without shadows.

My Tow Assist 2 activation was done by Ralf Sarek, when I asked him about the error he said he had seen it before but couldn't recall what the solution was. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I dont know how this magic works, but could it be struggling to pick up the trailer body and instead identifying the exterior obstacles (trees) as the trailer?

Does it do the same when it's in a wide open carpark?

I did attempt calibration in an open area. Same result.

If your system is the same as fited to the Range Rover Sport the System relies on three-dot sticker being precisely positioned on front of trailer according to rear camera target. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

Although a lot of dealers are still supplying new cars with these stickers, they aren't needed for the new Defender Thumbs Up Cheers Ian

True, there's still quite a bit of confusion on that and I have even watched youtube videos of a Defender owner using that sticker. It's not required anymore with tow assist 2. I activated it with the GAP tool and it's never required that thing.

The one thing I did have to learn was to press down on the climate control knob to let the system align the trailer in a straight line with the vehicle. After that it steered beautifully.

I would like a camera on the back of my trailer that worked with the fendi, but you can't have everything.
Smile I think you used to be able to get something like that on the Range Rover. None of mine had that though.
