I was zoned out on the home run so I didn't see you!
I live in Newport so I wasn't far from home. It's been a long old day, knackered now and I have 5 more days of work this week until I get relieved and put on a plane to Tenerife!  2008 Santorini Black 110 XS USW (Sold)

Ive decided now to convert my 110 to BMW M57 3.0 with the 8HP70X 8 speed auto box
250/300bhp with oodles of torque and silky smooth 8 speed auto is sounding appealing so to that end the complete powertrain is now for sale out of this 110! Engine turbo, loom, ecu, gearbox are all available Ill be keeping the transfer box unless I upgrade to a HD Winchester gears version. ill keep driving it until the powertrain is sold then ill remove it all and start the swap with my mate whose also a LR specialist.  2008 Santorini Black 110 XS USW (Sold)

I’m curious what costs are for an M57 conversion and auto box.
They sound like the ultimate paring to a Defender. 2008 2.4 110 Utility Station Wagon XS. |

I dont really want to know the costs tbh its a serious case of man maths justifying going on here,
my wife best not ever find this forum! 
But as a start im looking at around £1000/1500 for a Engine and box out of a breaker X5 or 535d or 335D give it all a full service and check over. Id imagine a full kit of adaptors, plug in loom into the tdci wiring loom, engine mounts and all that jazz are a good couple grand on top if not more. its going to be a bit of a slow burn as I buy a couple parts a week and collect it all ready for the swap. but should be worth it running 250/300bhp with a silky smooth 8 speed auto, I love the one in my wife's D4.5 and it shifts so well for such a heavy car running 280bhp so it should fare well in a lighter 110. 2008 Santorini Black 110 XS USW (Sold) 2015 Discovery 4.5 Black pack Firenze red XS 2008 Corris Grey 110 XS USW (sold) 2011 Santorini Black 110 XS USW (Sold) |

No doubt you could spunk £40k on it if you have the budget but when I looked into it a while back I thought £10 - £12k would get it done through the likes of wisemans and mwmachines > 110 XS Double Cab

More like 20 with 8 speed depends how budget you want to do the conversion if you wan to do it and upgrade everything to last it’ll be more always 2008 110 2.4 XS Utility (Hagrid)
